As part of its ongoing media relationship building initiatives, the Corporate Communication team organized a get together at the 32nd Milestone with key media journalists on the 17th of August. A range of issues were discussed and Mr Bashob Dey, Sr Vice President Corporate Communication thanked the media for their ongoing support. The team also shared with the media the special certification that the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway had received from the Limca Book of Records for having the largest Toll Plaza in South Asia at KM 24.
Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway featured in the Limca Book of Records
The KM 24 Toll Plaza of the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway has been featured in the Limca Book of Records 2011 as the Largest Toll Plaza in South Asia.
The 27.7 km long expressway built on NH-8 on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis got a detailed mention along with a photograph of the Toll Plaza under the Transport category. The editor of the Limca Book of Records, Ms Vijaya Ghose presented the National Record Certification to the Corporate Communication team for this achievement. The 6-8 lane expressway with 23 exit and 21 entry points is entered as the busiest inter-city road in the country which is accessed by over 10 lakh commuters daily. Open to traffic since January 2008, the KM 24 Toll Plaza processes over 1,90,000 lakhs vehicles daily. It is Indias first state-of-the-art urban expressway comparable to any global expressway project in terms of tolling technology, construction quality, commuter safety and convenience.
